About the Exhibition
THE REVERIES OF ANCIENT EGYPT invites audiences to journey across 5,000 years of Egyptian civilisation through a contemporary language of art, technology, and immersive storytelling. Moving beyond the familiar icons of pyramids, pharaohs, and mythology, the exhibition explores ancient Egypt as a living cultural memory—one that continues to shape how we understand humanity, creativity, belief, and our relationship with the world around us.
Produced by Jin Kim, Head of Strategic Partnerships & Communication, Adam Chen, Head Curator, Yan Paul Dubbleman, Creative Technical Lead, with the participation of two Korean digital artists, the exhibition brings together artistic interpretation, digital media, and immersive spatial design to create a dialogue between the ancient and the contemporary. Through projection, animation, sound, and large-scale visual environments, visitors are invited not simply to observe history, but to enter it.

At the heart of the exhibition is a journey through the landscapes, symbols, and stories of ancient Egypt—from the mysteries of the Nile and the imagination of its gods to the enduring human pursuit of meaning, connection, and happiness. The experience gradually moves between historical memory and contemporary Egypt, creating a bridge between a civilisation of the past and a culture that continues to evolve today.
The exhibition also places particular emphasis on cultural exchange and archaeological heritage. With the support of the International Foundation for Mutual Learning among Civilizations, a strategic partner of the Chinese archaeological team supporting archaeological projects in Egypt, the exhibition connects its immersive interpretation with the continuing exploration and preservation of Egypt’s cultural heritage.
Rather than presenting ancient Egypt as a distant civilisation frozen in time, THE REVERIES OF ANCIENT EGYPT asks how its stories might be experienced anew. Through light, movement, technology, and artistic imagination, the exhibition transforms historical knowledge into an experiential journey—encouraging audiences to discover not only the grandeur of an ancient civilisation, but the universal human emotions that have endured across thousands of years.

About the Creative Team
Ji-in Kim is a Seoul-based digital artist and 3D designer specializing in high-end look development and procedural special effects. Utilizing a powerful technical stack centered around Cinema 4D and Redshift, she builds hyper-polished digital environments where complex physics simulations and refined art direction meet. Kim has brought this expertise to major international public stages, designing large-scale spatial narratives for Samsung and SK at CES, the ILP Media Art project, the Incheon International Airport Hiker Lounge architectural installation, and prominent 3D visual campaigns for Amorepacific.
For The Reveries of Egypt, Ji-in oversees 3D Environment Modeling, Look Development, and Procedural FX within the project’s distributed production pipeline. She focuses her practice on crafting the detailed 3D assets and dynamic simulations that give the exhibition its visual texture and sensory depth. Her contribution seamlessly blends intricate procedural elements with polished look-dev to elevate the spatial narrative, ensuring that every digital asset on screen carries a deliberate purpose within the broader exhibition framework.
Dahyeon Kim is a Seoul-based digital artist and environment designer specializing in real-time engine workflows and interactive spatial design. Utilizing a technical stack comprising Unreal Engine 5, TouchDesigner, SketchUp, and AutoCAD, Kim constructs meticulous virtual worlds where structural architecture and digital atmosphere converge. Her practice centers on environmental world-building, masterfully balancing lighting, depth, and spatial geometry to transform complex cultural themes into living digital landscapes.
For The Reveries of Egypt, Dahyeon serves as the Unreal Engine Environment Designer, shaping the virtual architecture of the exhibition through a transnational digital workflow. In this role, she leverages her real-time engine expertise to develop the intricate virtual spaces displayed on screen. Her work anchors the environmental framework of the project, focusing intensely on the hyper-refined, subtle environmental details that give the digital space its profound sense of physical scale and immersion.
